There are many wonderful conventional medical doctors and naturopathic doctors who genuinely care about their patients. What makes Rivercreek Wellness different isn't simply the type of medicine I practice. It's the time I spend listening, the relationships I build with my patients, and my commitment to looking deeper when someone isn't getting the answers they need.
I believe healthcare should be personal. Every patient has a unique history, and understanding that history is an important part of determining what may be contributing to their health concerns.
The Rivercreek Wellness Difference
As a naturopathic doctor, I've built my practice around providing the time, attention, and individualized care that people with complex health concerns often need. Here are some of the things that make my approach different.
Time to Be Heard
One of the things I hear most often from patients is that they haven't felt heard. They've seen multiple providers, had numerous tests, and sometimes still don't understand why they feel the way they do.
At Rivercreek Wellness, your initial appointment is a full two hours, and follow-up appointments are typically one hour. This gives us time to talk about your health history, review previous testing, discuss your symptoms, and explore concerns that might otherwise be overlooked.
I value the relationships I build with my patients. I want to understand not only what you're experiencing but also how your health is affecting your everyday life.
Comprehensive Health Assessment
Your health history is more than a list of current symptoms. I want to understand the bigger picture, including:
Your health history, sometimes going back to childhood
Nutrition, sleep, stress, movement, and daily habits
Emotional well-being and how stress may be affecting your health
Environmental exposures, including possible mold or chemical exposures
Family history and genetic predispositions
Previous laboratory testing, diagnoses, medications, and treatments
Sometimes the details that seem unrelated can help guide us toward the next appropriate steps.
Advanced Testing Options
Laboratory testing can provide valuable information, but not everyone needs the same tests.
I use conventional laboratory testing and, when clinically appropriate, additional specialized testing based on your history, symptoms, and individual circumstances.
Depending on your needs, this may include evaluating nutritional status, thyroid function, metabolic health, hormones, or other areas that deserve further investigation.
I also spend time reviewing previous results. Sometimes important information is already available, and we don't need to start over.
My goal isn't to order more tests simply for the sake of testing. It's to use the information available to make thoughtful, informed decisions about your care.
Individualized Treatment Plans
There is no single treatment plan that works for everyone. Two people can have similar symptoms but very different medical histories, contributing factors, and needs.
Depending on your situation, your individualized plan may include:
Nutritional and dietary recommendations
Targeted supplements when appropriate
Botanical medicine
Lifestyle changes that are realistic for your daily life
Stress management and nervous system support
Prescription medications when indicated and within my scope of practice
Coordination with other healthcare providers when needed
I want my patients to understand why I'm recommending something and how it fits into their overall health plan.
Working Together with Conventional Medicine
I believe conventional medicine and naturopathic medicine can complement one another. Conventional medicine plays an essential role in diagnosing and treating disease, managing emergencies, and providing lifesaving treatments.
My approach at Rivercreek Wellness focuses on taking the time to understand the bigger picture.
Many of my patients have already seen several healthcare providers, undergone testing, and tried different treatments without finding the answers they need.
I review their history, previous testing, medications, lifestyle, and potential environmental exposures to help identify areas that may deserve further investigation.
My goal isn't to replace every other healthcare provider. It's to provide thoughtful, individualized care and work alongside other professionals when appropriate.
And perhaps one of the most important things I want my patients to know is that I don't give up easily when the answers aren't clear. That doesn't mean I have every answer, but it does mean I'm willing to keep asking questions, reconsider possibilities, and help determine the next reasonable step.
The Convenience of Telemedicine
At Rivercreek Wellness, telemedicine is an important part of how I provide care.
Virtual appointments allow us to have the same in-depth conversations, review laboratory results, and develop individualized care plans without requiring patients to travel to my office.
Diagnostic telemedicine appointments are available to patients who are physically located in Washington State at the time of their visit.
For individuals outside Washington, I offer non-diagnostic wellness consulting focused on education, lifestyle, and general wellness support.
I also offer limited in-person appointments in Spokane Valley, Washington.
